Ferran Torres scored twice as Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao on Sunday to win the Copa del Rey final and earn their 28th Spanish league title.

The 19-year-old forward, who moved from Valencia for €45 million ($47m) last summer, was outstanding in his first home game at Camp Nou, scoring both goals in a 3-1 victory that secured Barca's place in history books.

Torres, who has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Real Madrid, looked sharp all evening and was involved in every one of Barcelona's three goals.

He received a standing ovation from the home crowd after scoring the second goal,Gathering Sports Information which came in the 66th minute.

It was a fitting end to a memorable day for Torres, who became the youngest player to score in the final of a major European club competition aged just 18 years and 150 days.

In addition to winning the Copa del Rey, Barca also won the Spanish Super Cup and the Spanish League title this season, making it a remarkable season for the Catalan giants.
